Installing a turnstile gate involves more than securing a cabinet to the floor. Correct alignment, power supply, access control wiring and safety testing all affect how reliably the entrance operates.
This guide covers the main installation steps for commercial and industrial projects. Always use the mounting drawings and wiring instructions for the exact turnstile model.

Check the entrance layout before drilling or routing cables:
Mark The Entrance Layout: Use the approved plan to mark cabinet footprints, lane widths, fixing points and cable outlets. Allow room for barrier movement and service access.
Prepare The Mounting Surface: Confirm that the floor or base is stable and level. Check for hidden pipes or cables before drilling and follow the specified anchor design.
Position And Secure The Cabinets: Place the turnstiles without lifting them by the arms or panels. Check alignment, install approved anchors and recheck clearances.
Connect Electrical Power: With power isolated, connect the specified supply and protective grounding. Verify the electrical requirements before energizing the equipment.
Connect Access Control Devices: Install the specified RFID, QR or biometric readers and connect controller outputs, passage feedback and emergency inputs using the correct wiring diagram.
Configure The Gate: Set passage direction, authorization timing and operating mode. Calibrate motorized barriers and safety sensors where the model requires it.
Test And Hand Over: Test entry, exit, rejected credentials, obstruction response and approved emergency behavior. Record settings and provide the installation documents to the operator.
Different turnstiles share the same basic installation process, but space, mechanical clearance and system connections vary. Confirm each requirement against the selected model’s drawings.

Check cabinet alignment, barrier clearance, sensor positions and the finished floor level across each lane.

Confirm the full panel swing arc, lane width, sensor alignment and any required accessible passage.

Allow clearance for retracting wings and verify cabinet spacing, sensor alignment and access for servicing.

Check the full sliding-panel travel, cabinet positions, obstruction detection and maintenance clearance.

Allow room for arm rotation and check rotation direction, feedback and any model-specific drop-arm function.

Confirm foundation strength, frame stability, rotor clearance and the site’s separate emergency exit route.

Plan ticket-reader positions, power and data cabling, and testing with the selected ticketing platform.

Coordinate passport and biometric device positions, network connections, security requirements and system commissioning.
Product photos show examples, not installation templates. Ticketing and border control projects also require site-specific software and device integration.
| Check | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Mechanical | Cabinets are secure; arms or panels move without interference. |
| Electrical | Power, grounding and cable protection meet the approved design. |
| Access control | Valid credentials open the correct lane; invalid credentials are rejected. |
| Safety | Sensors, obstruction handling, power-loss and emergency behavior pass the project checks. |
| Handover | Final settings, wiring records and maintenance access are documented. |
Before ordering: Share the site layout, lane count, gate type, installation environment and reader/controller requirements with the supplier. Request the matching mounting drawing and wiring diagram to avoid changes on site.
It depends on site preparation, gate type, lane quantity, cabling and access control integration. Confirm a schedule after reviewing the installation drawings.
Yes, if the selected model is rated for the conditions. Check weather protection, drainage, corrosion exposure and cable sealing.
Often, yes. Verify the reader, controller, signal interfaces and operating requirements before ordering.
Only if the anchors are secured to a suitable underlying structure. Tile and screed alone should not be assumed to carry the installation loads.
